This vicious weather caused some problems in our HP Community.

High Winds FireOn the 7400 Block of Amarillo Blvd, we noticed a devastating fire being fought by the Amarillo Fire Department around 1:00 PM today on Monday, October 25, 2010. The high winds made it hard to quiet the smoke. I even had a hard time just taking the pictures and video. The wind was throwing pebbles all over the place; you did not have to move they sure came right towards you. I could not believe that I even had a hard time just standing straight.

Throughout the city damages were reported to property starting with torn branches, blown roofs, down power lines to more serious problems. The fire let us know that we are still at the mercy of the elements.

This short video shows how hard the wind was blowing during the intervention by the fire department. You can clearly see the tree sway. I was not trembling the camera in purpose, I was actually moved the by the wind. Let us hope that they were only property damages.
